Job Description: Dance Mat Instructor, (fixed contractual hours), Manchester, UK
Go Kiddy Karts is launching its new dance mat service to schools within the South Manchester area.
The role of the instructor is to attend weekly sessions at local schools and run structured dance sessions with our commercial dance mat system. You will be responsible for the safe handling of the equipment, the transportation, setup and clear away and the development of the children over the course of an academic year.
• Collect the equipment from secure premises and transport to school -
own transport is essential.
• Setup equipment within the school
• Meet and greet the children on arrival in a courteous and welcoming manner
• Configure and program the software for individual classes (full training
is given)
• Supervise and develop children within the dance sessions
• Implement dance sessions that conform to Key Stages 1,2 3, & 4 of
the PE curriculum (full training is given) .
• Literacy and numeracy to GCSE level.
• An interest in working with children.
• Good oral communication skills, in relation to both adults and children.
• An ability to relate to children in a caring, friendly and professional
manner.
• An ability to manage groups of children with a degree of authority.
• An ability to stay calm, observant and aware in a lively, busy environment.
• An enthusiastic and energetic manner.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Physically capable of handling reasonable loads.
• Good organisational skills.
• Paid or voluntary experience of working with and managing groups of children.
• Experience of working as a fitness, dance or activities driven teacher
/ instructor
• Experience of working co-operatively in a small team.
• An understanding of the principles of health and safety.
• An ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised.
• Some IT skills.
The hourly rate is £13.50
Job Description: Party Assistant (part-time, variable hours), Manchester, UK
Go Kiddy Karts run structured go-karting birthday parties for children between the ages of 4 and 10. We operate four electric go-karts within a giant inflatable track. Our main venue is Parrs Wood High School’s Sports Centre in Didsbury, Manchester and the parties take place mainly at the weekends.
The role of the Party Assistant is to support the Party Host in providing safe, fun and exciting parties for children.
• Meet and greet parents and children on arrival in a courteous and welcoming
manner.
• Put name labels on children and tick them off as they arrive against the
party log.
• Deal with customer and parent queries and concerns in a sensitive and
helpful manner, or direct them to the Party Host as appropriate.
• Assist with setting up and packing away equipment as required.
• Check the karting area before and between parties to ensure it is kept
tidy and clean.
• Tactfully help ensure party guidelines are observed by customers, parents
and children (eg food and drink guidance, staying away from the driving
area unless driving).
• Undertake training to ensure that all duties may be carried out to a high
standard.
• Learn scripts relating to instructions for children.
• Help to manage the children and arrange them into groups and teams.
• Give clear directions and instructions to children for the party activities.
• Start and stop the karts for each turn.
• Set up and adjust the speed of the karts as appropriate.
• Assist with managing the children while they are driving on the track.
• Assist with running the games and races.
• Manage crashes and incidents on the track in a way that promotes safety
for themselves and the children driving.
• Help to ensure the safety of the children both on and off the track and
ensure that driving rules are adhered to.
• Follow oral instructions from the Party Host.
• Assist with display of publicity material as required.
• Escort or direct customers and parents to various areas of the building
as appropriate (eg food area, toilet facilities).
• Take food boxes through to food area as required.
• Hours are variable, mostly at weekends and between 09:00 and 19:00. Party
Assistants will be working on a rota, which is dependant on the day’s bookings.
• Some week day work may be required from time to time.
• Occasionally a Party Assistant may be required to work at another centre.

• Occasionally a Party Assistant may be required to help with a public event.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Literacy and numeracy to GCSE level.

The hourly rate is £7.60
